Hello. I don't like uploading pictures very often, so when I do decide to do it, there will be a lot.
I have some interesting/semi-interesting pictures of things that have been going on in Chicago.
New Year's Eve

Piercing Music playing our first live show at Ronny's in Chicago. We had a decent turnout that night with lots of friends in the audience. It was my first time to play an instrument or sing onstage, and I was really nervous. Once we got started, though, I wasn't nervous at all and I enjoyed myself so much. We are playing a bigger show at the Bottom Lounge on February 18th.
Cate and James got married! I ganked this picture from her Facebook. I have film waiting to be developed.

Moose and Pudd are doing really well. I am trying to put Moose on a diet. She is really fat and I don't like that. It is hard to put one cat on a diet and not the other. I am looking into making my own cat food. I have been reading a lot about cat nutrition lately, and feeding a cat strictly dry kibble is not a good thing. It is mostly corn, and cats aren't supposed to eat corn. It is especially unhealthy for male cats because it can lead to chronic dehydration, which leads to crystals forming in the bladder, which is painful if not fatal. The meat in it is often made from the bodies of euthanized dogs and cats, which forces cats to be cannibals as well as forces them to ingest small quantities of the euthanizing poison. It is pretty easy to make raw, healthy cat food by chunking raw beef or turkey in a food processor and adding in small amounts of vegetables such as carrots or cauliflower. I am looking into it.
For Crimmas, Chloe gave me a haircut. At the last minute, I decided to get bangs. They freaked me out for the first couple of hours, but I knew that I would really love them when I got used to feeling them on my forehead. I do like them a lot now.
I had a job interview at Starbucks today. It went really well, I thought. She was really nice and the job and hours would be perfect for me! The location is awesome, too. It takes about 15 minutes to get there if I take the bus, 30 if I walk, and probably 10 or less if I bike. I walked home today, which was really nice, but by the time I got home, the skin on my face felt really frozen. I didn't like that, but it is super cold today. It has been in the upper 30's and 40's lately, which would be great for walking to work. She is looking to hire for the midday and occasional morning shift, which is exactly what I want. I am really thinking hard about getting this job. It is in a great part of town just a couple of blocks from the UIC campus, so the atmosphere is young and fresh. I keep thinking that me losing my phone and that other Starbucks employee not quitting kept me from getting two jobs that would not work out as well for me. The universe wants good things for me right now, and when Marie read my tarot about getting a job, she predicted that it would not be easy and a few things would fall out of whack, but that would only lead to me getting a job that would make me happy. She also predicted that I would start working at the beginning of February, which is really close.
Georgia is coming from the 15-18 of March. Emilie is trying to come that week as well, and Jerrica and Lydia say they are booking their plane tickets this week. It'll be such a full house that week! I am glad that so many of them are coming because that means that when I have to go to my Second City class or Swing class on Tuesday, they can all hang out and not be alone in the city. I'll also probably have to work some days while they're here.
Derek and I have applied to a bunch of wwoofing hosts, and we're almost all set for our summer trip to France/England/Scotland/Greece. It'll all be set in a couple of weeks when Marie finds out exactly when she'll be in Greece. Scotland is a surprise, but my friend Stephanie, who I met in Angers, is pregnant and will be having her baby at the end of August or the beginning of September. I haven't seen her since 2007, and since I could stay with her and meet her new baby, I am planning to go to Scotland when Derek and I are staying with Nathan in London at the end of the trip.
That is all for now.

I LOVE YOUR BANGS! They look freakin' awesome!
ReplyDeleteI would love to come visit you as well, but I am visiting my husband (WTF?!) that week in SC. You guys can come out there and go to the beach with me! :)
